Norfolk House (second) is built.

Designed in the Italian Palazzo style, it is located at today’s 4 – 20 John Eliot Square. The building serves as the home of the Roxbury Neighborhood House and as a branch library for many years. It becomes a settlement house at the turn of the century and is later renamed the Marcus Garvey House.
